Melvin A. Brenner, 90, of Weston, husband of Doris (Pinney) Brenner, died July 14, 2010, from head injuries he suffered in a fall.
Born in New York City, Brenner attended the City College of New York, graduating when he was 19. His first job was at the federal Bureau of the Budget in Washington, D.C. He later had a long career in the airline industry, primarily with American Airlines and TWA. After retiring, he continued as a consultant to foreign countries as a market planner for the airline industry.
He met his wife Doris, a professional photographer, in 1976. After marrying in 1977, they lived in Greenwich, later moving to Weston. They traveled widely together. Brenner was a longtime member of the Y's Men of Westport, where he enjoyed discussing politics, playing bridge and was a member of the photography club.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include his sons from his first marriage, Paul Brenner and his wife Ann of Ross, Calif., and Tom Brenner and his wife Caroline, of Fairfield; and grandsons Tristan, James and Aaron.
A memorial service will take place at 2 p.m. Aug. 28 in the Unitarian Church in Westport. Memorial contributions may be made to the Unitarian Church in Westport.
