WESTON - Firefighters found two people who became lost in the woods of the Devil’s Den Preserve on Sunday.

At 5:21 p.m., Weston firefighters and police were dispatched to Devil’s Den for two lost parties.

The searchers used a UTV rescue vehicle to located the two shortly after 6 p.m.

No injuries were reported.

With 1,746 acres, Devil’s Den is the largest preserve in Fairfield County.

The preserve's name derives from local lore: Charcoal makers in the hilly, rocky area would say that a hoof-like mark made in a boulder was the footprint of the devil.
