Moss Hart’s “Light Up the Sky,” a comedy about Broadway, will be staged weekend from Friday through Feb. 21 by the Westport Community Theatre.

The Westport production, focusing on backstage antics during the out-of-town opening of a new play, is directed by Ruth Anne Baumgartner. Joan Lasprogato is the producer.

The cast includes Westport residents Cindy Hartog, Bia Hittman, Leigh Katz and John Fatteross. Other performers are Timothy Brandt, Jonathan Jacobson, Mark Lambeck, Phillip Lorenzo, Sunny Makwana, P.J. Morello, Rosanne Nelson, Tom Rushen and Ward Whipple.

Baumgartner, in publicity for “Light Up the Sky,” said the show “is a great way to celebrate WCT’s 60th anniversary because it is, after all, a celebration of theater itself, at its best and worst. It’s a very funny play, but that’s partly because it is, on many levels, true.”

“Light Up the Sky” will be performed by the Westport Community Theatre on weekends from Feb. 5-21 at Town Hall, 110 Myrtle Ave. Show times are 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays, with a Thursday performance at 8 p.m. Feb. 11. Tickets cost $23, $21 for seniors and students. They can be purchased at or by calling 203-226-1983.
