Westport Public Library will host a talk by author Annabel Monaghan on her new book, "A Girl Named Digit," at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 7, in the library's McManus Room, 20 Jesup Road.

In the book, Farrah "Digit" Higgins may be going to Massachussets Institute of Technology, but the Los Angeles high school genius has left her geek self behind to blend in with the popular crowd at Santa Monica High and enjoy her senior year. Her laid-back senior year gets a lot more interesting, however, when she unknowingly cracks a terrorist group's number sequence.

Books will be available for purchase and signing at the free event.

Monaghan graduated from Duke University in Durham, N.C., and has a master's degree in business administration from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. She is also the co-author of "Click! The Girls Guide to Knowing What You Want and Making it Happen."
