We are very fortunate this year in Westport to have the opportunity to have Gail Lavielle represent part of our town in the General Assembly. Due to redistricting, if re-elected, Gail will represent part of Westport along with Wilton and part of Norwalk in the 143rd District. Gail has been an exemplary state representative in Hartford, fighting endlessly to help make Connecticut's government less costly and more efficient and is very deserving of re-election.

To those of you who don't yet know Gail, she is highly intelligent, has an impressive educational background, has been very effective in the state legislature, and is as nice as she is smart. In addition, Gail is one of the highest energy and hardest working women you will ever meet. I very much appreciate that her opinions are very fact- and information-based. In addition, she has lived around the world, is fluent in French having lived and worked as a business executive in France as well as being married to a Frenchman with whom she resides in Wilton. In addition to her long career as an international business executive, Gail is a former music critic, wrote reviews for the Wall Street Journal and also wrote a book on opera.

Gail has a bachelor of arts degree from Cornell University, a master of arts from Yale University and an MBA in Finance from the University of Connecticut. She also taught at UConn. In the finance world, she held Series 7, 66 and 31 securities licenses.

Gail's has deep and meaningful real-world work experience in the areas of finance, marketing and communications. She has over 25 years of business experience with Fortune 500 companies such as Suez Environment, the world's largest water and wastewater services company.

Gail has a deep understanding of local government having served on a host of education, transportation and environmental commissions and task forces. She also has served as a member of the Wilton Board of Finance so has a keen understanding of the financial pressures and issues that a Town like Westport faces.

I hope all of you get to meet Gail soon. When you do, I think you will be impressed with her as I have been and agree that we will be fortunate to have such a talented woman representing Westport in Hartford.

Please vote for Gail Lavielle for state representative in November.
