I again write to acknowledge the passing of one of Westport's valued and successful citizens, Judge Samuel Freedman. Judge Freedman was one of the first persons I met when I moved here in 1974, acting as the attorney who closed on our house.

I remember him then as being distinguished, scholarly, and personable, qualities he carried with him throughout his later career as a Superior Court judge and teacher. He will be missed, and I know the town will be less interesting without his presence.
