For weeks, I've noticed the trash left behind by players, parents, coaches and onlookers at Coleytown Middle School after sporting events.

This past weekend (June 16), I decided to snap photographs, because I was so disgusted by what remained on the soccer field after a game.

The trash cans were overflowing, so I'm assuming everyone thought it was okay to dump the garbage on the field, assuming that a school custodian or local trash collector would just pick up everything on the weekly collection.

We are all responsible for keeping the town of Westport and our playing fields clean. Aren't we living in the age of environmental stewardship?
