The Westport Center for Senior Activities and the Greens at Cannondale will hold four informative lectures on exercising one's memory on Wednesdays, Sept. 7, 14, 21 and 28, at the center, 21 Imperial Ave. The talks will take place from 1 to 3 p.m.

Attendees will be exposed to the latest research on how to preserve memory and cognitive function. They will also be told what areas of the brain are responsible for memory and how to keep it working well. They will also be given recommendations for diet and current research on the most important nutrients for memory improvement and optimal brain function.

Speakers will include Dr. Stephen Jones, director of outpatient medicine and Center for Healthy Aging at Greenwich Hospital; Barbara Schmidt, a registered dietician at Norwalk Hospital; and Shelly Moss, director of Health & Wellness at the Westport-Weston YMCA. Ana Nelson of the Connecticut Alzheimer's Association and Eleanor Tornatore-Mikesh, executive director of The Greens at Cannondale, will also give talks during the series.
