A children's concert featuring The Bossy Frog Band is planned at Pequot Library in Southport on Saturday, June 22, from 1 to 2 p.m.

The Nyack, N.Y.-based band encourage kids to get up and move during concerts, according to its website, and the group has released eight CDs of children's tunes.

Led by banjo player Jeffrey Friedberg, a certified music therapist, the band includes the 6-foot-tall costumed character Bossy Frog, a hula-hooping fiddler, a bass player and Monkey, another costumed character who would rather eat ice cream than exercise, according to the website.

The show is scheduled in the library's concert hall, and doors will open at 12:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 per child, with a $30 maximum per family. Adults accompanying children will be admitted free the library said. Admission includes one free CD per family.
