A tractor-trailer truck jack-knifed Thursday afternoon on Interstate 95 in Westport, colliding with a compact car and tying up southbound traffic for about an hour.

No one was seriously injured in the accident, according to Westport firefighters.

The truck jack-knifed just before 1 p.m. Thursday between southbound Exits 18 and 17, shutting down the highway's center and right-hand lanes.

The truck also collided with a Nissan Versa, firefighters said.

The truck driver was treated at the scene by Westport EMS personnel, while the Nissan driver did not need medical attention, according to the fire report.

Westport fire units dispatched to the accident scene included an engine, a rescue company and a command car.
