WESTPORT — An Indiana man who allegedly engaged in a hit-and-run accident in October turned himself in on an active arrest warrant Sunday.
Back in October, Anthony Buffa, of Indianapolis, struck the rear of a car at the intersection of Compo Road North and Post Road East and left the scene without exchanging pertinent information or waiting for the police to arrive.
Police learned the suspect vehicle was rented by the 63-year-old and submitted a warrant for Buffa’s arrest.
On Dec. 17, Buffa turned himself in on to police and was charged with evading responsibility and following too closely. He was released after posting a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear at Norwalk Superior Court Dec. 27.
