WESTPORT — Friday’s perfect weather had sales blossoming at the Westport Garden Club’s annual plant sale.
With over 1,500 plants and plant-related products dotting the front lawn of Saugatuck Congregational Church, hundreds of visitors enjoyed a chance to purchase homegrown products earmarked to thrive in local soil.
Proceeds from the sale are planted back into the community in the form of scholarships and beautification projects, according to Kelle Ruden, co-chair of the sale.
“This sale enables us to do that,” she said.
