Howard's pair helps Amity blank Branford

Kevin Howard scored a pair of goals to lead the Amity boys' soccer team to a 2-0 Southern Connecticut Conference win at Branford Wednesday.

Goalie Stephen Sasso made four saves for the Spartans (13-2). Goalie Ivan Feschenko made six saves for the Hornets (7-6-2).

Seymour 3, Crosby 1: Louis Krohelski scored a goal and had an assist to lead host Seymour in this Naugatuck Valley League matchup.

Ryan Maher and Alex Lukiv also scored for the Wildcats (8-4-3).

Girls' Soccer

Barlow 2, Bunnell 2 (2 OT): Chelsea Bourisquot scored in the 65th minute to tie the game for Bunnell in this South-West Conference game at Stratford.

Jesenia Beamonte scored on a Bridgette Dolio assist to get the Bulldogs (8-8-1) on the board.

Hamden 4, Foran 0: Brittany Tyson scored three goals to lead Hamden in this SCC interdivision matchup at Hamden.

Anna Leone also scored and Rachel Ugolik had two assists for the Green Dragons (5-9-1). Megan Flanagan made six saves in the shutout. Christina Dineson made five saves for Foran.

Shelton 6, Sheehan 0: Danica Foglio scored two goals off corner kick headers to lead the visiting Gaels to their SCC Housatonic League win at Wallingford.

Megan Manzo added a goal and an assist for the Gaels (12-3, 5-2). Goalie Sarah LaPlante made 10 saves for the Titans.

Field hockey

Lauralton Hall 3, Immaculate 1: Grace Reville had a goal and an assist to lead the visiting Crusaders (9-4-1).


Seymour 3, Woodland 2: Steph Burt led Seymour with 11 kills and 28 assists in the NVL matchup in Seymour. Christina Cretella had 19 kills and 15 assists to help the Wildcats (17-1) win the Brass Division.

Championship. Mary-Kate Durette had four kills and Kelly Mitchell added 18 digs.

Jess Patrizi finished with four aces, four digs, and 26 assists to lead Woodland (16-2). Steph Badale had 11 kills and Emily Hutvagner added eight kills.
