Robyn Barrett-Aguiar, 20, of Norwalk, surrendered early last Thursday at Westport police headquarters on a warrant issued charging her with stealing items from a Westport home, where she had been employed as housekeeper-organizer since October 2012.

During that time, the homeowner noticed items missing, but then realized items were being stolen, not misplaced, police said.

Barrett-Aguiar confessed to the owner that she in fact had been stealing the items, police said. The approximate total value of the items exceeded $19,000, according to police.

Barrett-Aguiar was charged with second-degree larceny. She was released on $2,500 bond and is scheduled to appear March 25 in Norwalk Superior Court.
