House cleaner charged with theft from Westport home
A Norwalk woman working as a house cleaner at a Westport home has been charged with stealing from her employer, police said.
Margarita Flores-Garcia, 38, was charged last Wednesday after a police investigation determined that she had stolen the homeowner's laptop computer valued at $1,200 and a VISA gift card valued at $100, both of which were recovered, police said.
Flores-Garcia was charged with third-degree larceny and sixth-degree larceny, and released on $1,000 bond. She is scheduled to appear Jan. 17 in Norwalk Superior Court.
