JIB Productions, a nonprofit performing arts producer, will hold "Seasons Readings" of one-act plays and short stories with holiday themes on Thursday, Dec. 13.

It will be held from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at the Westport Woman's Club, 44 Imperial Ave., followed by a reception with cast members, dessert and eggnog.

Readings will include "Verna," a story by Paul Gallico about a kindhearted, talented USO girl and member of a performing troupe in World War II Belgium who wins the hearts of American soldiers. Carolyn Marble of Ridgefield will play the title role, according to a release.

Marble also will join Tom Zingarelli of New Haven in "Santa comes to the King David," a George Cameron Grant comedy where a woman saves someone she thinks is a bridge leaper in a Santa suit and a Kris Kringle makes annual visits to a Jewish nursing home.

Broadway actress and Westport resident Susan Terry will read "A Christmas Memory," Truman Capote's 1956 recollection of his rural Alabama boyhood, the release states.

"A Celebrity's Guide to Celebrating the Birth of Jesus" by Tina Fey and Garrison Keillor's short story, "The Season of Letter-Perfect Families," will also be read.

Tickets are $30 per person.
