Harvest Fest set Saturday to benefit Wakeman Town Farm
Wakeman Town Farm's Harvest Fest -- its third-annual farm-to-table event featuring a distinctive menu of foods and beverages -- will take place Saturday at the farm, 134 Cross Highway.
The fundraiser for the farm takes place under a tent, where the evening's menu will feature hors d'oeuvres and entrees of local meats, artisanal cheese and seasonal produce, as well as wine, beer and signature cocktails.
There also will be music and a live auction.
"This event is special to us, as it brings together the community, as well as local sustainable restaurateurs and food producers for a night of fun under the stars," Wakeman Town Farm Steward Mike Aitkenhead said in a release publicizing Harvest Fest. "We work hard all year creating programs, tending gardens and running the farm, and this is a great way for us to celebrate all our efforts and show off the farm."
Proceeds from this year's event will be used for a new roof for the farmhouse and to support youth programs, such as summer camps and homesteading workshops.
Guests can bid prizes and auction items, including a stay at a waterfront home in Big Sur, a private four-course dinner party at Sugar & Olives for six featuring Chef Jon Vaast, BMW racing bikes, golf gear, and a getaway for two at The Delamar Southport with dinner at Artisan Restaurant.
Harvest Fest tickets cost $150 each, available on a first-come, first-served basis. To purchase tickets online visit Wakeman Town Farm's Facebook page or go here: http://bit.ly/1tfvKSg
