Grocery employee allegedly made fraudulent returns, pocketed cash
WESTPORT — A Super Stop & Shop employee allegedly entered fake returns into registers and pocketed the cash over several months.
Police said the supermarket, at 1790 Post Road East, reported in June that Quatiesha Johnson had been entering returns into the register when no customer was present, and taking the money. While working as a Customer Service Associate, the 24-year-old allegedly made more than 50 fraudulent returns, totaling $1,132.70.
The alleged thefts were captured on surveillance video. Officers arrested Johnson in Bridgeport on Sept. 22. She was charged with third-degree larceny, a felony. The resident of Baldwin Street in Bridgeport was released after posting $25,000 bail.
