Granola Bar goes with the grain -- and lots more
They're going with the grain, and a lot more, at the new Granola Bar.
Featuring a range of coffees, espressos and teas, yogurt, breakfast and lunch sandwiches, salads and, of course, granola, the cafe was recently opened in Playhouse Square by Dana Noorily and Julie Gaines, the co-owners of a three-year-old business, Oats Granola. Their products are carried in about 80 stores throughout the Northeast.
"We both live in Westport and have children in the school system. We developed this concept," " Noorily said. "Lisa Friedman LLC from Westport designed the aesthetic from the materials to the lighting. She did an amazing job.
"We have an extensive kitchen here where we make the granola," she added. "We wanted a vibe where you could have a business meeting or come for coffee. We felt there was a lack of a place where you could have good food and ambiance."
The Granola Bar has about 10 employees. The cafe has seats for about 28 people and a standing coffee bar.
The Granola Bar, located at Playhouse Square, 275 Post Road East, is open 6:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekends. (The owners say they are considering expanding hours to evenings.)
