The Groove Quintet, a jazz ensemble, will perform songs outlining a chronology of the genre during a free concert on Sunday afternoon, Feb. 8, at the Westport Library.

The show is at 2 p.m. in the McManus Room and will feature the music of Fats Waller, Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Charlie Parker, Lester Young, Dizzy Gillespie and Coleman Hawkins, the library said.

The Groove Quintet is led by guitarist Gene Pino. Members include Phil Bowler, an upright bassist and radio jazz personality who has recorded with Wynston Marsalis; Joe Meo on saxophone, clarinet, flute and vocals; David Jones on drums; and Joe McWilliams on piano.
