Westport police took into custody today five suspects who are allegedly responsible for a string of thefts from CVS and Walgreen's.

The arrests occurred after officers from the Westport Police Department responded to a report of a larceny at Greens Farms Spirit Shop on Post Road East at approximately 4 p.m. Shortly after descriptions of the suspects and the vehicle were shared with area police departments, Darien police contacted their counterparts in Westport to inform them that the suspects had been pulled over on Interstate 95, near exit 9.

Westport Police units responded to the scene and placed four New York residents and a Virginia resident under arrest for the larceny. During a search of the vehicle, police said that more than $6,000 in over-the-counter medication and beauty products were recovered. The items have been linked to numerous CVS and Walgreen's pharmacies, police said.

The individuals arrested are:

Crystal Josef, 34, of Brooklyn, N.Y., on charges of sixth-degree conspiracy to commit larceny, third-degree larceny and third-degree conspiracy to commit larceny.

Levi B. Daniel, 28, of Brooklyn, N.Y., on charges of sixth-degree larceny, third-degree larceny and third-degree conspiracy to commit larceny.

Lisa Corbin-Springer, 27, of Brooklyn, N.Y., on charges of sixth-degree conspiracy to commit larceny, third-degree larceny and third-degree conspiracy to commit larceny.

Lavone Williams, 23, of Brooklyn, N.Y., on charges of sixth-degree conspiracy to commit larceny, third-degree larceny and third-degree conspiracy to commit larceny.

Tashiem Saquan Williams, 23, of Richmond, Va., on charges of sixth-degree conspiracy to commit larceny, third-degree larceny and third-degree conspiracy to commit larceny.

Bond for all five subjects was set at $25,000.
