WESTPORT — A Fairfield woman was charged with driving under the influence after allegedly driving erratically on Post Road East and getting into an accident in a parking lot.
Police responded to the area of 991 Post Road East May 23 after receiving a call that the woman was driving a white Audi A4 erratically. Police arrived on the scene after the same vehicle was involved in an accident in the parking lot of that address, according to the police report.
Officers found Dorothy Moran, 66, slurring her words and visibly intoxicated. Police decided she was unable to safely get out her car to perform a field sobriety test, according to the report. She admitted to drinking alcohol and was transported to Norwalk Hospital for treatment.
Later tests of Moran’s blood alcohol content showed she was above the legal limit of .08 and a warrant was issued for her arrest. Moran turned herself in on Sept. 20 and was released on a $500 bond with a court date of Oct. 4.
