WESTPORT — A Fairfield resident was charged with marijuana possession Saturday after a Westport officer stopped the man for driving with an expired registration, police said.

Police pulled over Maximilian Rado, 34, while traveling westbound on Post Road East and detected an odor of marijuana emanating from inside his car. A K-9 search of Rado’s vehicle located marijuana near the radio and a glass jar containing approximately an ounce of marijuana in the trunk.

Rado was charged with possession of more than one ounce of marijuana, was released after posting a $500 cash bond, and is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Court on Jan. 29.
