Salvatore Piria, 30, of Monroe, was charged shortly after 11 p.m. June 11 on a charge of second-degree failure to appear.

Piria was pulled over for several motor vehicle violations when, after a background check, police learned that he was wanted by Monroe police for failing to appear in court for a separate motor vehicle charge.

Piria's bail was set at $500 and he is scheduled to appear June 21 in Norwalk Superior Court.
