Edward W. Plaut

Edward W. Plaut, 86, of Westport, the husband of Carol (Stern) Plaut, died Feb. 27.
Born April 6, 1924 in New York City, he was the son of the late Ralph and Gertrude (Weill) Plaut and had been a resident of Westport for the past 57 years. He attended the University of Florida and was a Navy veteran of World War II. He worked in the insurance business for 40 years before retiring. Following retirement, he volunteered delivering meals for the Meals on Wheels program in Westport, and also served as mentor in the Bridgeport public school system.
In addition to his wife of 61 years, he is survived by a daughter, Kim P. Sullivan and her husband Joseph of East Dennis, Mass.; two sons, Wynn Plaut and his wife Robin of Greenwich and Quentin Plaut and his wife Michelle of Fairfax, Va.; seven grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours at the Harding Funeral Home, 210 Post Road East, are Friday, March 4, from 9 to 10 a.m., followed by a 10 a.m. celebration of his life in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Home Delivered Meals, 21 Imperial Ave., Westport, CT 06880.
