One driver was injured in a two-car crash Monday morning on the Merritt Parkway in Westport.

A Mitsubishi Montero driven by a New Yorker and a Honda Civic LX driver by a state resident collided about 11:10 a.m. on the highway between northbound Exits 42 and 44, according to Westport firefighters.

Both drivers were evaluated at the scene, and the driver of the Honda was transported by Westport EMS to Norwalk Hospital for further treatment.

Both damaged vehicles had to be towed from the scene.

Traffic was restricted to one lane during emergency operations at the site of the accident.

State Police are investigating the accident.
