Richard Tracy, 49, of Coral Springs, Fla., was charged with driving under the influence early last Saturday.

Tracy was stopped after an officer checked his license plate number and found that vehicle's registration was suspended because it lacked insurance, police said. After he was stopped, the officer noticed a "distinct and pronounced odor" of alcohol on Tracy's breath, according to the report. Tracy also failed field sobriety tests, police said.

Tracy was charged with operating under the influence, operating under suspension and insufficient insurance. Released on $500 bond, he is scheduled to appear Oct. 18 in Norwalk Superior Court.
