Adelso Pena, 29, of West Haven, faces several charges after he was stopped Tuesday by police at the intersection of Post Road East and Maple Avenue because he was driving a vehicle with a large crack running across the driver's side of the front windshield, according to the report.

Later, police said they discovered that registration plates on Pena's vehicle were reported stolen and belonged to a stolen vehicle and not the vehicle Pena was driving.

Pena was charged with sixth-degree larceny and several minor motor vehicle violations. He posted $500 bond for the larceny charge and is scheduled to appear Aug. 17 in Norwalk Superior Court.
