Donald Johnson, 84, had family in New Milford

Donald I. Johnson, 84, of West Redding, died Jan. 11, 2009, at Danbury Health Care Center. He was the husband of Lillian (Uldall) Johnson.

He was born Jan. 23, 1924, in Georgetown, son of the late Alex and Jane (Carlson) Johnson.

A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army in the Pacific theatre and was a lifetime member of the American Legion.

Mr. Johnson was the owner of D. Johnson Plumbing and Heating.

In addition to his wife of 54 years, he is survived by two sons, Keith Johnson of Danbury and Steven Johnson and his wife Becki of New Fairfield; a daughter,
Lynn Kelley and her husband Peter of Danbury; four grandsons, Aaron of New Milford, Ryan and Kyle Johnson of New Fairfield and Rory Thibault and his wife Johanna of Richmond, Va.; a brother, Bruce of Redding; two sisters, Delice Lamb and Arline Powers ; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held tomorrow (Saturday) at 11 a.m. in the Bethlehem Lutheran Church , Portland Avenue, Georgetown.

There are no calling hours, and the interment will be private. The Bouton Funeral Home of Georgetown was in charge of arrangements.
