A 70-year-old woman was charged with driving under the influence last Thursday after police said she tried to drive around a police cruiser blocking Main Street for power-line repairs.

Marilyn Harding of Riverside Avenue was arrested on the charge about 11 p.m. Thursday as she tried to drive around the cruiser on Main Street, which was shut down as a Connecticut Light & Power crew worked to repair a power line that had fallen onto the roadway, according to the report.

"Harding was belligerent to the officers and refused to perform any field-sobriety tests," the report state.

She was released after posting a $500 bond and is scheduled to appear Thursday in Norwalk Superior Court on July 10.
