Thomas Maloney, 48, of 4 Norwood Lane, was arrested early Friday at the Saugatuck Metro-North railroad station for alleged drunk driving.

Maloney was observed sleeping in his car with the engine idling in the station's parking lot, police said. When an officer checked on Maloney's welfare, he allegedly detected a strong odor of alcohol on Maloney's breath. Maloney reportedly failed field sobriety tests.

He was charged with operating under the influence of alcohol, and released on a $500 bond. He is scheduled to appear Dec. 13 in Norwalk Superior Court.
