A Norwalk woman was charged with driving under the influence last Thursday night after she ran into the rear of another vehicle stopped at the intersection of Kings Highway North and Canal Street.

Kristen Freitag, 21, of East Avenue in Norwalk, was charged after 10 p.m. incident when an officer dispatched to the scene of the two-car accident reported that there was a strong odor of alcohol on Freitag's breath.

She was taken into custody after failing a field sobriety test and refusing to take a breath test, police said.

In addition to DUI, she was charged with following too closely.

Bond was set at $500 for a Friday date in Norwalk Superior Court.
