Police: Woman gave twin sister's identity after traffic stop
A woman has been charged with criminal impersonation following a motor vehicle stop last Friday afternoon.
Michelle Maxwell, 31, of Fairfield Avenue in Waterbury, was charged with interfering with an officer, criminal impersonation and two counts of operating a motor vehicle while under suspension.
Maxwell was stopped around 12:30 p.m. Friday for a motor vehicle violation while traveling north on the Sherwood Island connector.
Maxwell provided the police officer with a false name and date of birth, which was actually that of her twin sister, according to a police report.
Subsequent investigation revealed her true identity and that she was operating an uninsured vehicle under a suspended operator's license, the report said.
Bond was set at $1,000.
