Cops: Woman charged after near-fight over no-parking zone at pre-school
A Fairfield woman has been charged with breach of peace after a confrontation nearly turned physical over a “no-parking” spot at a local pre-school center, police said.
Jennifer Briggs, 43, of Bailey Road in Fairfield, was charged last Wednesday on a warrant in connection with the Dec. 8 incident.
Briggs, according to the report, had parked in a no-parking zone at the Burr Road pre-school and refused to move her car when asked by an employee.
When the employee attempted to take a photo with her phone of Briggs’ vehicle parked in violation of the prohibition, police said Briggs tried to grab the phone and swung at the employee with one hand while holding her child in the other.
Bystanders broke up the confrontation and no one was injured, police said.
Bond was set at $500 and Briggs is scheduled to appear Jan. 15 at state Superior Court in Norwalk.
