WESTPORT — A 29-year-old Stamford man pushed a woman out of a moving car in Westport, police said.

The incident happened on Jan. 14, 2019, following an argument between Felipe Hernandez-Villegas, 29, and the victim, according to police.

The victim told police that she and Hernandez-Villegas were driving on the Sherwood Island Connector in Westport when he assaulted her and angrily pushed her out of his moving car.

The victim reported minor injuries as a result of the incident, police said. Later that day, she filed a report at the Westport Police Department.

A warrant was eventually obtained for the arrest of Hernandez-Villegas, but police were unable to locate him.

On Sunday, Stamford Police Department reported that they had Hernandez-Villegas in custody.

Hernandez-Villegas was charged with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct. He posted the $25,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on June 1.
