A Bridgeport man is the second person to be charged with a residential burglary here last summer.

Edward Santos, 24, of Ogden Street Extension in Bridgeport, was charged with first-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit first-degree larceny.

Police went to Norwalk Superior Court on Monday to serve an arrest warrant on Santos after a lengthy investigation into a burglary and larceny at a Riverfield Drive residence last July, according to the report.

Police said there were 84 pieces of jewelry stolen from the residence with an estimated loss of more than $50,000.

"The follow-up investigation by the detective bureau identified the suspect, Santos, as selling the stolen jewelry from the burglary to a pawn shop," according to a police report.

On April 8, Westport police arrested Raisa Santos, 22 of Bridgeport -- described by police as a "relative" of Edward Santos -- for the same crime.

Edward Santos was scheduled to appear April 30 on the charges at state Superior Court.
