A man who paid strangers for a ride home from the East Norwalk Railroad Station early Wednesday, wound up being held captive by the quartet during a bizarre ride through local streets while they demanded he turn over the PINs to his debit cards.

The man was later released by his captors, but the four suspects remain at large.

The incident unfolded about 1:15 a.m. Wednesday when the victim, who was not identified by police, got off a northbound train at the East Norwalk station and walked to a nearby gas station, where he agreed to pay two men $10 for a ride home. He got into the vehicle -- described only as a dark-colored sedan with cloth interior -- with the two men and two female passengers.

After driving around unfamiliar streets, the victim told police that was driver pulled over the car, and that the man was told to get out of the vehicle where the driver and the male suspect demanded more money at knifepoint. They also took the man's wallet.

The man, after unsuccessfully trying to flee, was ordered back into the car where the male suspects began demanding that he give them the PINs for the debit cards in his wallet. When he refused to reveal the numbers, he was struck in the face from someone in the car's back seat, according to the report.

At one point during the ordeal, the car's three other occupants got out. The man was left alone with the driver, who still held the knife, and continued to demand that the victim turn over the PINs and allegedly threatened to kill the man if he gave an incorrect number for the cards.

The man was finally released in the area of Kings Highway North and Wright Street, according to the report.

Police released the following descriptions of the four suspects sought in the case:

The driver, according to the victim, was a white male in his mid-20s with a thin build, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a long face and short, light-color hair. The driver was wearing metal-framed prescription eyeglasses, a white tee-shirt and blue jeans.

The other man was also white, in his mid-20s, thin and about 5 feet 7 inches tall, according to the report. He was clean shaven and wearing a white tee-shirt, red gym shorts with a stripe on the leg and black sneakers.

One of the women is white, in her mid-20s, with dark blonde hair tied in a pony tail.

The other woman was described as white, thin, in her mid-20s, with straight dark blonde hair.
