Daniel Riley, 30, of Bridgeport was charged with driving under the influence and several traffic violations after police said he left the scene of an accident on Hales Road last Friday night.

After fleeing the crash scene about 10:30 p.m. Friday, police said Riley was spotted and pulled over by officers in the area of the Sherwood Island Connector. At the scene, Riley failed field-sobriety tests, and subsequently was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, leaving the scene of an accident, traveling unreasonably fast, failure to drive in the proper lane and failure to maintain minimum insurance coverage.

Bond was set at $1,000 and he is scheduled to appear Aug. 12 in Norwalk Superior Court.
