A Trumbull man who police said was visibly intoxicated and acting belligerent toward a food vendor at the Westport Arts Festival was arrested about 2:45 p.m. Sunday after assaulting police officers who told him to leave the event, according to the report,.

Eric Rogers, 39, of Linley Street in Trumbull, refused to leave the festival in the Parker Harding Plaza and became increasingly aggressive toward officers called to quell the disturbance, according to the police report. He was eventually subdued by several officers and the use of a stun gun.

Rogers suffered minor injuries, police said, and was treated at Norwalk Hospital. He was later transported to police headquarters and charged with assault on an officer, breach of peace, and interfering with an officer.

He was released on $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear July 31 in Norwalk Superior Court.
