The Friends of the Westport Center for Senior Activities will host its annual Super Bowl indoor tailgate party on Sunday at the center, 21 Imperial Ave.

The free party is open to people of all ages from 1:15 to 4 p.m. and will feature food, cheerleaders, games and prizes, and the presentation of the friends group's annual Service to Seniors award.

Timing of the event allows fans plenty of time to get home or to other parties before the 6:30 p.m. kickoff of Super Bowl XLIX between the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks.

The group's ninth annual party will include hot dogs from Oscar's Delicatessen, chips, dips, soda and cake; appearances by cheerleaders from Staples High School and the Police Athletic League youth program; a guess-the-final-score contest, plus games and prizes, the friends group said in a news release.

In past years, members of the Staples football team have been invited. Instead, Staples girls soccer team members have been invited this year, party organizers said, because it was co-champion of its conference, the FCIAC.

The group's Service to Seniors Award will be presented to Judy and Neil Hardy, who the group said have been involved in planning senior center events, most notably its "Meet the Artists" series.
