Cliff Ross, 59, a longtime resident of Westport and the husband of Katherine Ross, died May 4.

Born in Woodmere, N.Y., he was the son of the late Alan and Leona Ross. He moved to Westport in 1963 and graduated from Staples High School. He received a master's degree in architecture from Tulane University.

After traveling and living in various parts of the country, he returned to Westport in 1977 to build his first house with his brother and father, forming Ross Builders. He coached Westport youth sports leagues and played golf, having won the senior club championship and later served on the Golf Advisory Committee at Longshore, his home course.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Cooper Ross, Tyler Ross and Rebecca Ross, all of Westport; a sister, Randi Ross of Westport; an aunt, Jill Ross of Westport; a brother, Stuart Ross of Weston; an aunt and uncle, Gloria and Michael Alhanti of New York, and cousins and nieces.

A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, May 15, at Saugatuck Congregational Church, 245 Post Road East.
