The Levitt Pavilion for the Performing Arts will host a free performance by Recess Monkey, a Seattle-based children's musical group, at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 18, at the pavilion, 40 Jesup Road.

The band, founded in 2005, consists of three elementary school teachers who use mostly electronic instruments and focus their songs writing on children's experiences such as losing teeth, going on field trips and getting new school supplies.

The performance, part of the pavilion's Children's Series on Wednesday nights as part of its summer of 50 free shows, will be sponsored by the Westport Weston Family Y.

The pavilion opens at 6 p.m. on children's nights for picnicking and free face-painting starts at 6:30. Parking may be found at Westport Public Library or the Imperial Avenue commuter lot.
