Staples High School cheerleaders and varsity athletes will take to the runway on Friday evening, March 27, during the cheerleaders' Varsity Vogue Fashion Show and Auction.

The 18th annual fundraising event is planned at 7 p.m. in the Westport Inn ballroom and will benefit Staples and PAL youth cheerleading programs.

Clothing from the downtown shop South Moon Under will be modeled by cheerleaders and members of Staples' varsity football and basketball teams, organizers said in a news release. The event will include food, a cash bar, music and an auction of items, some that appeal to adults and others to youths.

Tickets are $10 for students, $25 for adults, available in advance and at the door the night of the show.

Among the auction items are:

The opportunity to be a cheerleader for a Staples home football game, joining the cheerleaders on the sideline.

One week of vocal training for a child age 8 to 12 at a summer music camp, including a recording session and show at the end of the week.

A football signed by the Staples varsity players and coaches, a basketball signed by varsity players and a megaphone signed by varsity cheerleaders.

A Texas getaway, including seven nights in a two-bedroom cottage in Austin near music clubs and other attractions.

A private dinner for six with chef Nicola Zanghi, prepared by the award-winning chef at the winning bidder's home.

A blue sapphire necklace on a 14-karat gold chain.

A golf outing for four at the Shorehaven Golf Club, including lunch on the club's terrace.

A two-hour cruise on Long Island Sound for six people, departing from the Rex Boating Club in Norwalk.

The Westport Inn is at 1595 Post Road E.
