Chabad of Westport will host a talk by an author and former Hamas terrorist at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 3, in the Westport Inn, 1595 Post Road East.

In his book "Son of Hamas," Mosab Hassan Yousef reveals an insider's view of Hamas and his separation from his family, friends and homeland, according to Chabad of Westport.

Yousef, born in Ramallah in the West Bank in 1978, is the son of one of the founders of the organization that has battled Israel. While in prison for committing attacks, he accepted an offer to become a spy for the Israeli intelligence service to betray the service and use his role to protect his family. As a spy, he said he discovered hypocrisy within Hamas and used his position to save lives on both sides of the conflict, according to Chabad of Westport.

Book sales and signing will follow the presentation.
