WESTPORT — Sunday school students from The Congregation of Humanistic Judaism got an early start on Passover, not at a synagogue, but at a school.

The students organized a model Passover Seder dinner at Bedford Middle School in Westport on Sunday, April 2. Passover, the Jewish festival celebrating the liberation of the Israelites from Egyptian slavery, officially starts Monday, April 10.

Part of the mission of the congregation, founded in 1967, is to celebrate Jewish holidays and traditions in non-theistic ways.
