WESTPORT — Two people were sent to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after a car crash Tuesday afternoon, according to fire officials.

The two-car crash happened at the intersection of Riverside Avenue and Lincoln Street around 3:13 p.m.

Westport’s Assistant Fire Chief Jeffrey Grootman said one driver was trapped and had to be extricated from one of the cars.

Both drivers were treated at the scene and sent to hospital for treatment, Grootman said.

The crash is under investigation by Westport police.
