A troupe of Broadway singers will perform at Staples High School on Monday night, Jan. 26, in a fundraising show to benefit The Orphenians, Staples' select choral ensemble.

The Orphenians are raising money for a trip in March to San Franciso for an elite choral festival.

To help fundraising, 2008 Staples graduate and Broadway performer Adam Kaplan will bring at least seven of his Broadway friends to Westport for the benefit, concert organizers said.

The show is at 7:30 p.m. in the Staples auditorium. Tickets are $20 for students ($5 is tax deductible) and $40 for adults ($25 is tax deductible), organizers said.

Tickets are available in advance online and will be available at the door, and all proceeds benefit The Orphenians.

Kaplan has appeared in "Newsies" on Broadway, and the performers joining him in Westport include cast members from "Wicked," "Spring Awakening," "In the Heights," "Mary Poppins" and other shows, the Orphenians said in a news release.

The Orphenians are one of 10 elite, high-school choral groups in the nation invited to the Chanticleer National Youth Choral Festival March 26 to 31 in San Francisco.

The four-day festival includes classes and coaching by members of Chanticleer -- the acclaimed a capella group that has toured the world -- and culminates with a concert in Davies Symphony Hall.

Participation in the festival is underwritten by Chanticleer, but each group must pay its own travel expenses, meals and other costs.

Among Broadway performers who have agreed to join Kaplan on the Staples stage, organizers said, is Robin de Jesús, who is starring in "Wicked" and garnered Tony nominations for his performances in "In the Heights" and "La Cage aux Folles."

Also scheduled to perform at Staples are Tommy Bracco and Molly Jobe ("Newsies"); Matt Shingledecker ("Wicked," "West Side Story" and "Spring Awakening"); Steffanie Leigh (the final Mary of "Mary Poppins"); Barrett Wilbert Weed ("Heathers the Musical" and "Lysistrata Jones"); and Kara Lindsay ("Wicked" and "Newsies").
