WESTPORT — A Bridgeport woman was charged with a DUI, among other charges, following a motor vehicle stop in Westport, police said.

Around 2:45 a.m. March 10, an officer observed a vehicle traveling westbound on Post Road East go through the intersection with Wilton Road, disregarding the red traffic light, police said.

Police stopped the vehicle near 120 Post Road East. Officers observed the driver, Darlene Pagan, 31, was slurring her speech and asked her to exit the vehicle to perform standardized field sobriety tests, which police said she failed.

Pagan was taken into custody and transported to headquarters, where a breath test found her blood alcohol content to be above the legal limit, police said. While inventorying her property, officers said they found marijuana and a acetaminophen-oxycodone pill.

Pagan was charged with operating under the influence of drugs/alcohol, insurance coverage fails to meet minimum requirements, failure to obey control sign, and possession of a controlled substance. She was released after posting $500 bond for the motor vehicle charges and issued a promise to appear for the narcotics charge. Pagan is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Court March 20.
