WESTPORT — Mark Dipietro allegedly raped and sexually assaulted a woman at Hall-Brooke Behavioral Health Services in May.
Police were called to the 47 Long Lots Road branch of St. Vincent’s Medical Center on reports of a sexual assault. Westport detectives interviewed the suspect and, while he was deceptive, were able to corroborate the assault from the victim’s statement, Lt. David Farrell said.
Farrell said that due to the nature of the case, police are unable to release any further information. Police added that Dipietro was not a hospital employee.
Farrell identified the victim as a woman over the age of 18.
Police charged the 22-year-old resident of 1969 Main St. in Bridgeport with sexual assault, first-degree and fourth-degree. Sexual assault, first, is a class B felony that carries a minimum sentence of two years. If found guilty, Dipietro could face up to 20 years of jail time for the felony, along with up to a year for sexual assault, fourth, a misdemeanor.
Dipietro turned himself in to police Aug. 3 after a warrant had been out for his arrest. He is being held on $50,000 bail ahead of an Aug. 15 court date.
St. Vincent’s Communications Manager Caryn Kaufman declined to comment, but clarified that Dipietro was not an employee.
