Bridemaids keep 'watch' over bride-to-be before Westport wedding
This was a bridal party with a mission.
At Chef's Table restaurant in downtown Fairfield Friday morning, bride-to-be Melissa Bernardo was under "Bride Watch" by a pair of her sisters and several close friends from her days at Eastern Connecticut State University.
Bernardo's attendants, all wearing "Bride Watch" tank tops, were to be her bridesmaids and bridal party members at her wedding later in the day in Westport. They were ordering omelettes at Chef's Table before the late-afternoon nuptials at the Westport Inn, followed by a photo session at Sherwood Island.
Bernardo, who lives in New Haven, professed to be a "huge" fan of "Game of Thrones," the popular HBO cacle television series. In the show, the night "watch" protects the realm from unknown ancient dangers. "My bridesmaids are charged with the same mission," said Bernardo.
